COVID-19: training is currently suspended but we hope to be back up and running as soon as possible. Participants are expected to continue to stretch and practise routines as far as possible at home. Watch this space for further updates including news about virtual training.
The Jets will be undertaking a 5km sponsored walk on Saturday 29th June 2019 at 10.00 to raise funds for the programme. Members of the local community are very welcome to join in.
The (buggy-friendly) route will begin at Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College for Girls, where the squads train, and finish at the playground in Norbury Park (see below map).
The route will be marked out along the way by volunteers; attendants and pace walkers will be on hand as well as marshals in high-visibility vests. Those who complete the walk will each be presented with a medal at the finish. Parents, carers, friends and participants are encouraged to bring picnics to enjoy in the park (weather permitting!).
Registration costs £5 per solo entrant or £15 for a family of four. Those aged eight and under are free. All participants will need to complete a sponsorship form and waiver that will be provided upon registration. Please see Miss Campbell for further details or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Three Jets squads took part in the Legacy Alpha and Omega competition at The Copper Box Arena in east London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 23rd February. We’re pleased to report that our young athletes performed exceptionally well and did their coaches and teammates proud, coming first in each of their respective divisions.
The Red Jets were awarded top spot in the Novice division at their first major contest; the NM Jets placed first in the Youth Level 1 division and the All Stars came first in the Junior Level 1 division. To cap off an extremely successful day, the All Stars enjoyed the added bonus of being crowned Grand Champions.
Parents and carers of Jets participants are invited to a meeting on December 13th 2018 to discuss the 2018-19 cheer and dance season.
During the meeting you will be provided with information about the programme, what is expected from you and your child, and what our plans are for the season. You will also have the opportunity to see what the athletes have achieved so far.
In addition, we are currently in the process of forming a parents’ group that can help fundraise and offer support on trips to and from competitions; further details will be shared at the meeting.
We hope to see as many of you as possible; do please come along!
